Silkeborg IF was founded in 1917, reached the top Danish division in 1987 and became one of the most successful clubs in Denmark. They became national champions in 1994, won the cup in 2001 and the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 1996.

Silkeborg IF participates in the tournament with a mix of players born in 2005, 2006 and 2007. From this squad, several players have been called up for Danish youth teams. For Denmark U19 (2005) these are goalkeeper Aske Leth Andresen, central defender Alexander Priesborg and midfielder Oskar Boesen, for the Danish U18 team (2006) winger Sebastian Biller Mikkelsen and midfielder Julius Nielsen and for the U17 team (2007) defender Simon Stüker.
Last year Lasse Abildgaard participated in our tournament with SIF. He now plays for Ajax.

From 1995 to 2006, Silkeborg participated in the PLUS Stam KST seven times and won the tournament in 1995. The Danes finished in third place last year and are coming to Ruurlo for the eighth time this year.
