Union Saint-Gilloise was founded in 1897, was the most successful Belgian club before the Second World War and won the national title eleven times. For the time being, it has to be preceded only by RSC Anderlecht and Club Brugge. Since 2021, the club has again played in the First Division A, the highest football league in Belgium, in which it has been involved in the battle for the championship every year since then.

The team that participates in this tournament plays in the National U18 Elite 2. After the regular competition, the team plays in the U18 Elite Play-Off 2, group B, in which it competes with Waasland-Beveren, Cercle Brugge and Lierse Kempensonen for the highest honor fights.

Union Saint-Gilloise is participating for the second time. The club finished in eighth place last year and came into the picture again after it was decided to postpone the participation of Hapoel Be’er Sheva for a year.
