The highest youth team of the leader of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, Union Saint-Gilloise, will replace the Israeli Hapoel Be’er Sheva at our upcoming tournament. As previously reported, Hapoel, after proper mutual consultation, will not participate this year.
The Belgians are not unfamiliar with the PLUS Stam Karel Stegeman Toernooi, because last year the Brussels team finished in eighth place on their debut, after losing on penalties to Hapoel Be’er Sheva. If their goal difference after the group matches would have been slightly better, they would have even been in a better place.
