De Graafschap was founded in 1954 and De Achterhoek immediately has a representation in the professional football that was also founded that year. A rich history with many illustrious moments follows. De Graafschap is characterized as a real regional club, which is close to the people.

Since then, De Graafschap has been promoted to the Eredivisie no less than nine times, three times (1990/1991, 2006/2007 and 2009/2010) as champion. Since the last relegation in 2019, the club is playing at the second highest level in the Netherlands.

De Graafschap is best known for its stadium De Vijverberg, located on filled-in ponds around the De Zumpe nature reserve. Her supporters are renowned and praised thanks to the many impressive atmosphere actions, which means that they are now well known throughout Europe.

De Graafschap U18 started this season under the leadership of Jan Vreman in Division 1, where they competed against the top of the Netherlands. Despite victories over PSV O18 and AZ O18, the team was just unable to maintain itself. FC Twente/Heracles had a better goal difference by 1 goal, as a result of which De Graafschap relegated. In Division 2, the team again had to struggle a lot and the results are mixed. Through great victories and unnecessary defeats, the players also gain a lot of experience here.

De Graafschap is a record participant at the KST. The “Superboeren” are participating for the 22nd time this year.
