Sparta Rotterdam midfielder Ilias Bel Hassani, who in 2009 with Sparta participated at the Karel Stegeman Toernooi, is called up for the Moroccan Olympic squad. The team, that has qualified for the upcoming Olympic Games in London, plays an exhibition game against Dutch Vitesse on February 28th.
Interesting detail is that Bel Hassani in the Moroccan selection will meet two players who also played at the Karel Stegeman Toernooi. Striker Soufian El Hassnaoui (De Graafschap) took part in the KST in 2007 and 2008 with De Graafschap and goalkeeper Younes Itri (FC Carl Zeiss Jena) was in 2009 and 2010 in Ruurlo with Tennis Borussia Berlin.
